High Summer

Well, it’s been a wild summer of transitions aplenty. Learning to appreciate and accept the comfort I can afford and not to mourn that which I can’t have. I’ve been paring down my belongings and projects to only what I need, in order to have space in my home and my mind to live and work with intention. These changes and reflections have certainly snuck in to my teaching, giving my classes a different flavor this month.

As is the case with all new ideas, it’s been an uneven, sometimes challenging, but ultimately satisfying process. I want to thank my regular students for the steady support your attendance in class gives, and to thank my new students for the opportunity to grow.

Things to look forward to in the fall:

-More teen yoga! I’ve been talking to a few places and am hoping to set up at least one new class.

-Private sessions at Pro Sports Club in South Lake Union. This will be a new offering at the gym.

-Heat control in the new Epicenter yoga room. I know all our fingers are crossed on this one. I’ve heard they are getting quotes.

-Continuing education. I’ll be resuming my teacher training this year with impeccable Iyengar teacher Richard Schachtel. Alignment galore!

More new projects will be posted as they arise.

Punk Rock Yoga again approaches…

Road Trip!

The man and I are heading down the coast to a wedding in Pescadero this week. So expect excellent subs in my classes, save at UniverseCity and OmTown, where my classes will be cancelled.

I will be spending my week listening to many a book on cd from the library and knitting. Well, that’s not actually that different from my usual, save for the fact that it will be all happening in the car.

Great class last night at the VERA Project! Three cheers for Adam, from the Hoot Hoots for serenading us so beautifully.

Some changes to my schedule are beginning this week:

The Epicenter has moved in to the Medical Dental building, in to the bygone Allstar Fitness. I will be keeping my Tuesday and Thursday classes in the new space, and the time will be changing to 5:30. I will no longer be teaching the Wednesday afternoon or Saturday morning classes at the Epicenter.

My temporary post as Teen teacher at OmTown becomes permanent as Libuse is moving to New Orleans for a great new job. Congrats, Libuse!

I will start teaching a Saturday morning class at the South Lake Union Pro Club. The class is 11:00 to 12:30, my first class there will be the 16th.

UniverseCity Yoga will be closing at the end of this month. I will keep teaching my Thursday classes at UniverseCity through the end of the month, and we’ll see what happens after that!

More changes will be posted as I make them.

Summertime is all about trying new things. If you want to come witness my latest project, I’ll be downtown on Friday evening in front of Pacific Place busking with a friend. Me on cello, she on cardboard dancing. So come on down around 8:00 and throw us a dollar or two!

Teens class in June

I’ve just agreed to teach, to sub, the Teen Yoga class at OmTown Yoga for all of June. What a blast! I love subbing, and I love teaching to teens. So, teens, come down and see me at OmTown yoga on 35th and 55th in Bryant on Wendesdays from 4:00 to 5:30. See you there.
